* * * THREE BRIGHT COMETS * * *

These three images of relatively bright comets were obtained recently by Albert van Duin (Beilen, NL) with a 25-cm SCT at f/4.6 equipped with an Audine CCD.

The two images above were taken on the evening of October 15, 2004 during a starparty held near a small village called Wateren. Despite the ominous name of the location, skies were clear on Friday evening. The image at upper left shows C/2001 Q4 (NEAT). It was exposed for 6 minutes. Note the faint sunward pointing tail!
The image at upper right shows C/2004 Q1 (Tucker). It was exposed for 11 minutes.

On the evening of October 19 he imaged 78P/Gehrels 2 from his backyard in Beilen. The image to the right was exposed for 18 minutes around 21h UT.

All images have North up and East to the left.
